MS Project and Multiple Critical Paths

In a project, there is usually only one true critical path. On a recent project, it was determined that due to an end constraint date, MS Project was showing negative float for several tasks. Determining the critical path became difficult because every task with a float less than zero suddenly became negative.

MS Project Settings

There is a way around this and that is by turning off the “Calculate multiple critical paths” option in MS Project.

This can be found under Tools > Options > Calculations tab
